Ingredients
- 1/2 Tbsp chipotle chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 can unsalted or low sodium kidney beans
- 1 can unsalted or low sodium black beans
- 1lb 90/10 ground sirloin
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small can diced green chilis or 7oz can of Herdez Salsa Verde
- 2 cans fire roasted tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- salt to taste (at the very end)
Directions
1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
2. Add the ground sirloin to the pot and cook until browned, breaking it up into smaller pieces with a spatula or wooden spoon.
3. Add the diced onions and green bell peppers to the pot and sauté until the vegetables are soft and the onions are translucent.
4. Add the chipotle chili powder and chili powder to the pot and stir to combine.
5. Add the beans, diced green chilies, and fire-roasted tomatoes to the pot and stir to combine.
6. Bring the chili to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
7. Season with salt, to taste.
