Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small tomato, diced (seeds removed)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • 1 jalapeño, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Directions

    1. Prepare the Avocados: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
    2. Mash the Avocados: Using a fork, mash the avocado to your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
    3. Mix in the Ingredients: Add the lime juice, red onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro, salt, cumin (if using), jalapeño, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
    4. Taste and Adjust: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more lime juice, salt, or cilantro to your liking.
    5. Serve: Serve immediately with tortilla chips, veggie sticks, or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or salads.
